Top Chef Season 4 Winner, 2011 FOOD & WINE Best New Chef, 2011 James Beard Nominee
A chef, restauranteur, entrepreneur and author, Stephanie Izard is the executive chef/owner of Girl & The Goat restaurant in Chicago’s West Loop.
Inspired from the Izard surname, which is French for the Pyrenean Chamois, a goat antelope found in several mountain ranges, Izard’s Girl & The Goat, a 2011 James Beard Best New Restaurant finalist, is a partnership with Boka Restaurant Group. Since it’s opening in July 2010, the restaurant has been praised by high-profile publications such as Food & Wine, Saveur, New York Times, Wine Enthusiast; Town & Country, Chicago Tribune, Timeout Chicago, and Chicago magazine.
In addition to being named a Food & Wine Magazine “Best New Chef “in 2011, Izard has appeared on the Rachel Ray Show, Martha Stewart’s Living Today, and the Food Network, among other broadcast outlets. Stephanie is the only woman to win Bravo’s Top Chef (Season 4/2008).
A passionate advocate of local farmers and products, Izard is heavily involved with Common Threads, the charity co-founded by Oprah toque, Art Smith, that teaches kids about nutrition and healthy cooking. Izard will launch her first cookbook, Girl In The Kitchen in fall 2011, and is currently working on her next restaurant project, Little Goat.
