The Community Grant Fund supports programs that benefit our communities via grants to local nonprofits. Supported organizations assist families and individuals in need of food, housing, health and wellness services, education, or employment. Grant decisions are made by Community Grant Councils, committees of employees who represent their respective regions and determine which local nonprofit agencies will receive funding.

Matching Gifts

In an effort to encourage employee giving through the Foundation, MGM Resorts launched a Matching Gifts Program for donations made to the MGM Resorts Foundation Community Grant Fund. Employees can receive a match of up to $10,000 per year when they make a one-time donation to the Community Grant Fund. This program began in June 2021.

Three Square

Three Square has a mission to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. They work with a service network of community partners to reach struggling individuals and families at risk of hunger.

During weekends or long breaks from school, many children go hungry. Under its umbrella of childhood nutrition programs, BackPack for Kids supports childhood nutrition year-round by providing bags of nutritious, single-serving, ready-to-eat food items each Friday. A grant from the MGM Resorts Foundation helped Three Square provide 18,000 backpacks, each containing four meals, to children struggling with weekend hunger.

Generation Hope

Generation Hope has a mission to ensure that all student parents can succeed and experience economic mobility. By engaging education and policy partners to drive systemic change, they provide direct support to teen parents in college as well as their children through holistic, two-generation programming.

With a grant from the MGM Resorts Foundation, Generation Hope was able to provide important resources for the Scholar Program, which surrounds teen parents with mentoring, tuition assistance, a peer community and other vital, wrap-around services. Generation Hope Scholars graduate at a rate that is double the rate for low-income college students and eight times the rate for single mothers nationwide.
