Things to Do in Las Vegas – August 2026

While summer begins winding down in other cities, Las Vegas keeps the heat and energy high in August. With marquee events, world class entertainment, and destination dining experiences, there’s no better place to be than one of MGM’s famous resorts on the Strip.

Prime Pool Parties

With fall still safely tucked away in the latter half of September, the Las Vegas pool season is still in full effect. Whether you are seeking a high energy dayclub experience or a relaxing retreat from the casino crowd, here are some of our favorite places to seek out some sun.

Mandalay Bay Beach

In our experience, Mandalay Bay Beach is one of the best places to enjoy August in Las Vegas. The giant 11 acre water park has a lazy river and wave pool, along with golden sand that makes it feel like a real beach in the middle of the desert. It’s the perfect location to soak up the sun during the day and prepare for your nighttime itinerary.

Palm Tree Beach Club

There’s always a party at Palm Tree Beach Club during pool season, and August is no exception. The dayclub features private cabanas, poolside cocktails, and a tropical themed atmosphere. You can expect high energy performances from top DJs with an immersive sound system across the venue. We recommend visiting on Friday and Saturday afternoons for the best vibes.

Shows and Entertainment

Las Vegas hosts some of the biggest stars and most exciting performances all year round. In August, you can expect to see a new lineup of events you won’t want to miss.

New Residencies

There's always something new to see and do when it comes to Vegas entertainment, from chart-topping artists at Dolby Live inside Park MGM to world-famous acts coming back to MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil shows remain one of the most classic things to do in Las Vegas and a must have on your travel bucket list. Whether you get tickets to the water spectacle of “O” at Bellagio or the engineering marvel of a stage show of “KA”, you’re sure to be entertained from beginning to end.

Refresh at the Spa

A trip to Las Vegas comes with exciting pool days and late nights, which makes relaxation essential in between activities. The spas at MGM Resorts provide a calm space for guests to feel refreshed and ready for anything.

MGM Grand Spa & Salon

The spa at MGM Grand is an essential experience for all Vegas travelers. The venue has treatment rooms with massages, facials, and more on the service menu. Guests can take advantage of saunas, whirlpools, and lounges. The salon inside the spa offers styling and cosmetic treatments. There’s also a fitness center available for spa guests.

ARIA Spa & Salon

The ARIA Spa & Salon features a salt room, hot and cold baths, outdoor infinity pool, Japanese stone beds, steam room, and many more unique amenities you won’t find anywhere else. Customizable massages help guests detox and recharge before going back into the excitement of the Strip.

Endless August Summers at MGM Grand

Visiting Las Vegas in August is all about enjoying the last weeks of summer before fall. Whether you plan to soak up the sun outdoors, relax at the spa, or watch an exciting performance, there is no shortage of experiences to fill your days at MGM Resorts.
