Crash Course on Blackjack in Las Vegas
At MGM ResortsBlackjack
When people explain how to play blackjack, they usually state that the objective is to get as close to 21 as you can. But it’s a little more complex than that when it comes to winning. Really, the objective of blackjack is to beat the dealer’s hand in one of these two ways: 1) have a total that exceeds the dealer’s or 2) not exceeding 21 when the dealer does.
About Blackjack
In terms of the card values, numbered cards count as their face value, picture cards count as 10 and aces count as either 1 or 11. You should assume your ace counts as 11 unless that would make your hand total exceed 21. To find your total, simply add up the card values in your hand. If a hand does exceed 21, that’s known as a bust and the player automatically loses. Depending on the first 2 cards you’re dealt, you must make a decision of whether to hit (get dealt another card in order to increase your hand total) or stand (which means you are satisfied with your hand total).
Whether this information is completely new to you or you’re practically a blackjack professional, you won’t be getting very lucky any time soon if you’re not playing in the right casinos. Different Vegas casinos actually offer players different odds of winning. Blackjack has long been one of the most popular casino games and it’s even been reincarnated in its digital form – as video blackjack which still offers great odds. These video blackjack machines look more like slots and less like tables but the blackjack rules are still the same.
We know that great blackjack odds are still available on The Strip and we’ve found them. Here is a list of the four best blackjack spots in town, sure to provide you with the highest payouts with our guide of the best Blackjack spots in Las Vegas:
Aria
If you feel like playing some blackjack with a big payout, Aria’s the place to go. Since 2011, Aria Resort & Casino has been rated as the #1 place to play blackjack on the Las Vegas Strip for having the best odds. Ever since MGM Resorts opened up their ARIA Campus in 2009 with Aria placed in the middle, the urban metropolis has paved the way for luxury gaming on the Las Vegas Strip. The blackjack tables have stakes of$50 to $10,000, where the House edge is just 0.20%, which is about as good as it gets on The Strip. Not only are your odds at winning higher at Aria, but you’ll be spending your blackjack playing time in an extravagant 150,000-square-foot space. The hotel is known for its unique technological advancements and sustainability efforts. It’s definitely a spot worth checking out on your next trip to Vegas, and why not win some extra cash while you’re at it?
Bellagio
