When you attend an event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, you’re sitting in a seat that has seen history come to life. It’s held several historic events including some legendary fights. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has fought at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in 14 of his fights. The Mayweather vs. Pacquiao event broke records as the single largest Pay Per View event in U.S. history with 4.6 million purchases. It was also the host to the Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield matchups. The 1996 matchup was one of the first times that Tyson met an opponent that could go the distance. The infamous 1997 fight is one that sealed the end of Tyson’s career as he resorted to unapproved fighting methods as a frustrating fight and difficult personal problems combined in a dangerous way. Mike Tyson put his personal problems behind him and made amends. Evander Holyfield accepted a public apology from Mike Tyson on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2009.

How do I get to the Garden Arena?
This is a commonly asked question after anyone’s booking. The Las Vegas Strip may only be 4.2 miles long, but within this Strip there are multiple places to get turned around. When getting to the arena there are a couple of options. If you are driving, parking at MGM Grand is your best bet. Once you’ve parked, the quickest way to the arena is by following the signs to the Monorail. Head through the station and into the MGM Grand where you’ll arrive directly across from the Garden Arena.
If you have more time, take a stroll through the casino and past a number of restaurants & shopping options that would go well before or after any Garden Arena show. If you’re not driving and not staying at the MGM Grand, use either a ride-share or taxi, or take the Las Vegas Monorail straight to the MGM Grand!
