Status Match Challenge: Challenge Rules
1. The MGM Rewards Program (“MGM Rewards Program”) Status Match Challenge (“Challenge”) is available to all new and existing MGM Rewards Program members in good standing during the promotional period (see #2). Challenge is subject to these Challenge Rules and the MGM Rewards Program Rules available here (“MGM Rewards Rules”) unless otherwise provided herein. The Challenge is offered by MGM Resorts International (“MGM”).
2. The “Status Match period” to request, receive approval for, and start a Status Match Challenge begins at 7:01 AM Pacific Time (PT) on February 15, 2024 and ends September 30, 2024 at 11:59 PM PT. The “Status Match approval date” is the date on which a member is approved for a Status Match and member’s account is upgraded, pursuant to these Challenge Rules.
The “Challenge Period” refers to the 90-day period that commences on the Status Match approval date and includes the next 90 full calendar days, Pacific Time, thereafter, during which a member must successfully complete the Challenge requirements in order to extend the associated Status Match Tier through January 31, 2026.
3. Individuals prohibited from gaming or entering an MGM casino and/or hotel by law or for any other reason are not eligible to participate in the Challenge. Must be 21 or older to participate in the Challenge.
4. As set forth in Rule 8 of the MGM Rewards Rules, persons who are currently entered into certain self-limit, self-exclusion, exclusion, and/or disassociated persons programs (or are otherwise prohibited from participating by applicable law) are not eligible to participate in the Challenge.
5. As set forth in Rule 2 of the MGM Rewards Rules, all eligible individuals may generally enroll in the MGM Rewards Program, including immediate family members of MGM employees (as defined in MGM internal policy) and individuals who reside in the same household as MGM employees subject to certain restrictions involving wagering and participation in certain promotions.
6. By participating in this Challenge, participants agree to adhere to these Challenge Rules and the MGM Rewards Rules.
7. In order to participate in this Challenge, a participant must, during the Status Match period, visit a participating MGM Rewards desk in-person and produce and present his/her valid and current year competitor loyalty card (with his/her name printed on the card) from an eligible competitor program (together with his/her valid government-issued photo identification) to receive his/her Status Match in the MGM Rewards Program subject to these Challenge Rules and the MGM Rewards Rules.
8. For a full list of competitor loyalty cards eligible for Status Match Challenge and for specific MGM Tier Statuses corresponding to competitor cards and matched statuses, see here.
9. Once your 90-day Status Match upgrade and Challenge Period end, it may take up to seven (7) business days for your new or extended Tier Status to be processed. If MGM determines that you have successfully completed the Challenge, your Tier Status Match will be effective during such processing period.
10. Gold and Platinum Status Matches pursuant to this Challenge are subject to the MGM Rewards Rules (click here) except as follows:
A. Status Match will only be valid for a member’s Challenge Period (not for the entire 2024 Tier Status Benefit Year (which is February 1, 2024 – January 31, 2025)):
For Gold Tier Status Matches requested between February 15 and September 30, 2024, a member must earn or accumulate 50,000 Tier Credits on eligible spend for this offer within the member’s 90-day Challenge, valid from his/her Tier Status Match approval date (or either earn or accumulate 75,000 Tier Credits during the Tier Status Earning Year or be given an elevated Tier Status through a separate promotional offer) in order to extend matched Tier Status through January 31, 2026.
For Platinum Tier Status Matches requested between February 15 and September 30, 2024, a member must earn or accumulate 150,000 Tier Credits on eligible spend for this offer within the member’s 90-day Challenge, valid from his/her Tier Status Match approval date (or either earn or accumulate 200,000 Tier Credits during the Tier Status Earning Year or be given an elevated Tier Status through a separate promotional offer) in order to extend matched Tier Status through January 31, 2026.
B. If requirements are not earned within the member’s Challenge Period, member will be reverted to their pre-Status Match Tier Status and expiration date, unless member earns the required Tier Credits to advance tiers during the Challenge Period. In that case, member will be evaluated based on Tier Credits earned in the current Tier Status Earning Year.
C. For linked accounts, Challenge earning requirement must be achieved by the individual member who requested and received approval for Tier Status Match, in order to extend the matched Tier Status of such member through January 31, 2026. Individual balances of both members of such linked accounts will not be combined to determine whether the Challenge was successfully completed by the member requesting the Tier Status Match pursuant to this offer.
11. The MGM Rewards Program’s Tier Achievement Air Travel Credit benefit, Tier Achievement Celebration Dining Credit benefit, and annual complimentary cruise benefit require individuals to earn the minimum Tier Credits associated with the corresponding Gold & Platinum Tier Status during the current Tier Status Earning Year (i.e., January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023). Therefore, individuals who receive a Gold Tier Status Match through this Challenge (and as described above) do not qualify for the Dining Credit benefit simply by receiving a Status Match or by successfully completing a Tier Status Match Challenge; Individuals who receive a Platinum Tier Status Match through this Challenge (and as described above) do not qualify for the Dining Credit, Air Travel Credit or complimentary cruise benefits simply by receiving a Tier Status Match or by successfully completing a Tier Status Match Challenge. Rather, an individual must earn the minimum Tier Credits in accordance with the MGM Rewards Program Rules.
12. MGM Resorts reserves the right to modify (e.g., change competitor loyalty card(s) that are eligible for matching, change MGM Rewards Program Tier Status that a competitor’s card/status will be matched to, change Challenge Tier Credit requirements, change Challenge Period, etc.) or cancel this offer at any time at its sole discretion. MGM Resorts also reserves the right to exclude a person from participating in this Challenge if MGM Resorts reasonably believes that such person is engaging in unfair, fraudulent, deceptive, and/or misleading actions, omissions, behavior and/or conduct, or otherwise does not comply with these Challenge Rules or the MGM Rewards Rules.
13. MGM Resorts is not an affiliate of any competitor casinos nor is MGM Resorts affiliated with any loyalty programs identified in connection with this Challenge. All competitor casino and loyalty program names are the trademarks of their respective owners.
