Once your Status Match request is approved, you will automatically be enrolled in the Challenge with an opportunity to extend your 90-day Status Match upgrade by meeting the Challenge requirements:

Gold Status Match Challenge Requirement: Earn 50,000 Tier Credits on certain eligible spend within 90 days after your match
Platinum Status Match Challenge Requirement: Earn 150,000 Tier Credits on certain eligible spend within 90 days after your match

If you successfully complete the Challenge requirements, your status will be extended through January 31, 2026.

What spend is eligible to earn Tier Credits towards Challenge requirements?

Are there any restrictions on how I earn Tier Credits towards Challenge requirements?

Do Tier Credits earned prior to receiving my Status Match upgrade count towards the Challenge requirements?

I received a Status Match and/or successfully completed the Status Match Challenge, do I get access to the Tier Celebration Dining Credit, Air Travel Credit and complimentary cruise benefits?

No, you do not automatically receive these benefits by receiving a Status Match upgrade or successfully completing the Status Match Challenge. During the applicable Tier Status Earning Year, members must earn 75,000 Tier Credits to be eligible to receive the Gold Tier Celebration dining credit and 200,000 Tier Credits to be eligible to receive the Platinum Tier Celebration dining credit, air travel credit and complimentary cruise benefit. What happens to my Gold or Platinum Status Match if I do not successfully complete the Challenge?

How does Status Match Challenge work for linked accounts?

For linked accounts, both members will receive the Status Match upgrade to Gold or Platinum for the 90-day period beginning at the time of your Status Match. However, Challenge requirements must be earned individually by the member who requested and received approval for the Status Match upgrade, in order for such member to successfully complete the Challenge. Tier Credit balances from, or earned by, both linked accounts will not be combined for the purpose of successfully completing the Challenge requirements.

If Status Match Challenge requirements are successfully met, both accounts will receive an extension on their Gold or Platinum Status Match through January 31, 2026.

How can I track my progress towards achieving Challenge requirements?

Your individual Challenge progress will be viewable on the MGM Rewards app and mgmrewards.com within 24 hours of your Status Match. Download the MGM Rewards app and sign into your account. Click “Rewards” and see “My Challenges”.

On mgmrewards.com, sign in, click your name in the top right corner, and click on “My Rewards” and see “My Challenges”. You can also visit the MGM Rewards desk for additional assistance tracking your progress.

When does my Challenge Period start and end?

Status Match Challenge Details:

Status Match Challenge is available to new and existing MGM Rewards members who request and receive approval for a Status Match upgrade during the period of February 15 – September 30, 2024. Tier Status received through Status Match expires 90 days after the date of receiving such Status Match, unless the Challenge requirements are met, or member otherwise earns the Tier Credit requirements associated with the corresponding Tier Status. MGM Resorts International (MGM) is not an affiliate of any competitor casinos nor is MGM affiliated with any loyalty programs identified in connection with this promotion.
